Iliad scoop inaugural Downtown Lifestyle & Hospitality Award

Iliad Group take home Hospitality Group of the Year Award at Downtown Liverpool’s inaugural Lifestyle & Hospitality Awards.

Thursday 10th September 2015 marked the launch of a new award ceremony founded by business-to-business membership organisation, Downtown Liverpool, to recognise organisations that play an instrumental role in the city’s flourishing lifestyle & hospitality sectors.

Iliad Group are responsible for establishing some of Liverpool’s most exciting dining concepts since 2003, having earned their reputation in the city’s hospitality sector due to an exceedingly passionate commitment to meeting a real demand from the people of Merseyside for high quality, entertaining dining experiences. This commitment, combined with unique and exciting methods of serving wholesome dishes which provide truly consistent and memorable experiences with each and every visit, have racked up multiple industry awards for the group since its launch and have largely influenced the recent surge in restaurant & bar operators – notably in the city’s RopeWalks district.

Iliad Group comprises popular venues: Sapporo Teppanyaki, Il Forno Italian Restaurant, Crust, and P&D Italian Deli.

Group Leisure Operations Director, Theo Tsiolas, commented on the achievement:
“We were delighted to have been included in a shortlist alongside such industry identities as Thai Leisure Group, Individual Restaurants, Living Ventures, and The Know Collection – whose respective venues have become recognised brands among Liverpool’s plethora of eateries. Most of which have opened within the last 10 years. This makes our win all the more meaningful as it recognises the amount of hard work, genuine passion and determination our team have put in since day one.
Since we started in 2003, we have had the privilege of not only providing over 150 positions of employment across our venues, we also actively encourage fellow restaurateurs to consider introducing unique, international dining concepts in the immediate vicinity of our flagship Teppanyaki and Italian restaurants, both situated in Iliad Group’s East Village in the RopeWalks.
We see this area as a thriving community which only flourishes further with friendly competition. This tight-knit community really is propelling the city’s bustling leisure offering!”

Iliad Group’s victory comes as the organisation celebrates a bumper period for their leisure division, having unveiled their newest successful eatery late last year – Manzo Grill, Liverpool One – the first independent, Italian grill house in Liverpool.
