Iliad Student Projects are pleased to announce we have received permission on a second high specification student development in Birmingham.
The site for the proposed scheme is located in the north of the city centre, 500m from Ashton University and adjacent to the £40m, 656 room Bagot Street student development, which was completed in September 2011.
The site will comprise of 492 bedrooms including 50 studio rooms, over 16 storeys with fantastic views across the city of Birmingham and the neighbouring canal. The proposed site will also feature over 5,300 sq ft of A1 retail space on the ground floor with a new public realm and cycle park, to help create a community hub and enhance commerical enterprises in the area. The entire project has a gross development cost of over £30m.
The Bagot Street II scheme will be built to BREEAM – very good specification level.
The development will feature en-suite flats of 4,5, & 6, clustered around a spacious kitchen and lounge area. All rooms are 25% larger than competitors. Amenities include an on-site laundry, a game and common room for the exclusive use of residents with a 24 hour manned reception.
Just like Bagot Street I, this project takes the standard of student accommodation to the next level.
