Cogs set in motion for Iliad’s extra care facility following appointment of main contractor Harbur Construction

Harbur Construction have been formally appointed as the main contractor for Iliad’s newest development. Iliad have been commissioned by KHT to develop an extra care village on the site of Prescot’s historic watch factory.

Demolition and remediation works have been completed on the Prescot Watch Factory site with great emphasis applied to retaining the Grade II listed former home of Lancashire Watch Company, oozing with character and a lifetime of stories to tell; from creating world class timepieces to facilitating Lord Derby’s ‘Liverpool Pals’ during World War One.

The building forms an integral part of the 7 acre Albany Road regeneration masterplan with phase 1 introducing two additional purpose-built wings to the striking Grade II listed factory grounds. The extended factory will comprise 54 one and two bed apartments and 16 new-build bungalows on adjacent plots amongst private landscaped gardens.

This cutting-edge scheme will provide extra care accommodation with the freedom of independent living and the peace-of-mind of rehabilitation and intermediate care options.
